One for the Money
You’d think that a tricky putt with big money on the line would be a little too high-pressure for a kid who hadn’t been golfing all that long, but once you’ve gone through what Dakota had, facing that challenging shot didn’t even phase him.
At the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational In Memphis in 2019, a 12-year-old Dakota was paired with FedEx Cup Champion Justin Rose for a charity putting contest. With a big check on the line for St. Jude, Rose left his 50-ft attempt five feet short. Dakota confidently stepped up and sank a clutch breaking putt that earned $50,000 from FedEx Cares for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and a lot of recognition for Dakota.
